What Does the Spanish Flag Mean?


The Spanish flag features three horizontal bands of red at the top, yellow at the centre and red at the bottom. The yellow colour on the flag is a symbol of generosity while red is the symbol of bravery, strength and valour. The coat of arms on the Spanish flag includes the royal seal framed by the Pillars of Hercules that represent Ceuta and Gibraltar on either side of the eastern end of the Strait of Gibraltar.
