Sugar is a water-soluble crystalline carbohydrate made up of the following elements: carbon, hydrogen and oxygen. Glucose is the most essential carbohydrate fuel sugar. Others are galactose, fructose, ribose and deoxyribose, disaccharides, polysaccharides, cellulose and glycogen.
