What Happened on Ismarus?

Answer

Ismarus is an island in Ancient Greece. It is also known as Ismara by some accounts. During Homer's The Odyssey, Odysseus and his men stop on the island and begin to rape and pillage against the advice of Odysseus. They are attacked by angry inhabitants and driven off with some casualties. It is unclear where Ismarus was exactly, though it was definitely in the Aegean Sea.
