What happened to Elijah Blue Allman?

Elijah Blue Allman (born 1976), son of Cher and musician Greg Allman, struggled for many years with a heroin addiction before becoming sober in 2008.

At the age of 19, Allman became the front man for the band Deadsy, which is currently on hiatus. In a February 2014 interview, Allman told the Daily Mail that he enjoys chopping firewood and watching television with his wife. He also works as a visual artist.

According to a February 2014 interview with Entertainment Tonight, Allman began using drugs at the age of 11, starting with marijuana and ecstasy. He then turned to heroin and experienced what he describes as several close calls until relinquishing the habit.

Allman married Marieangela King at his Beverly Hills home in December 2013. According to Allman, Cher made no acknowledgement of the pair's engagement, and he has not spoken to his mother since December. Cher's mother, however, has been in touch and has offered congratulations to the couple. In the February 2014 interview with the Daily Mail, Allman said that he expects to reconcile with his mother within the year.

In 2010, he presented a one-man show of prints and paintings at the Madison Gallery on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles. Entitled "Stuff of Legends," Allman's show included pop art-influenced works that address the ways in which art and commerce intersect and collide.
