Erin Murphy, who primarily played the role of Tabitha, now raises alpacas and horses on her ranch. She has not strayed completely from television, however. She still does correspondence work and is planning to resume acting full time.
Although Erin Murphy is solely credited for the role of Tabitha, the young witch offspring of Samantha and Darrin Stephens on the popular 1960s sitcom "Bewitched," she actually shared the role with her twin sister Diane in the early days of the show. Producers soon decided, however, that the two girls looked too dissimilar to use interchangeably. Erin won the role because she was more cooperative on set than her sister, who had a more spirited nature. Advantage was still taken of Diane's energy in scenes that required Tabitha to be more active than usual, however. After "Bewitched" ended in 1972, Erin moved away from acting, doing only one more film in the late 1970s. She is now the mother of six boys and has been married to Darren Dunckel, who has the same first name as Tabitha's dad. Erin is still stopped by fans of the show who ask her to rub her nose, which was Tabitha's way of making magic happen on the show.
