Hurricanes are tropical storms that occur when the winds blow faster than 118 km/h. They form when warm water heats the air causing it to rise quickly which results in it getting pushed aside as it cools. This pushing causes the clouds to spin. These whirls have a central area of calm known as the ‘eye’ which is the funnel through which the warm air rises.
When you hear of a hurricane coming the things that happens during it is the water temperature and the wind will spin causing a funnel. Then it will build higher winds as it moves over warmer water. If you hear one coming near you should get into a safe place.
