A conjugal visit is a visit by an individual to his or her institutionalized spouse who may be in a prison during which, time alone is provided to the couple to permit them to engage in sexual relations. These visits are meant to allow family bonding and the assurance of continuity of normal life for the prison inmate once he gets out.
