Humidity is the amount of moisture in the surrounding air whether indoors or outdoors. A healthy humidity level should range between 40 and 50% but a low of 30 and a high of 60 is also acceptable. Humidity below 30% poses a health risk as it is likely to dryness of the skin, nose and throat sometimes causing susceptibility to upper respiratory illnesses. High humidity on the other hand may cause musty odours, moulds and mildew among others.
