A heart lesion is a heart condition where a part of the heart tissue becomes traumatised sometimes causing it to lose its function or its discontinuity. A heart lesion can occur in any part of the heart. If it occurs in the heart chambers, it interferes with the pumping of blood to the lungs and other parts of the body. A heart lesion could also occur in the major blood vessels originating from the heart in which case it interferes with the flow of blood in them.
