Heat Engines?

Answer

A heat engine is a system which performs the conversion of thermal or heat energy to mechanical energy. This is does by bringing a 3 working substance from a high to low temperature state. An advantage of a heat engine is that it can easily convert most forms of energy to heat by processes such as dissipation, resistance, friction, absorption and exothermic reactions.
