What Is a Homogenous Material?

Answer

A homogenous material is anything made of matter that is uniform in composition or character. In engineering a material is said to be homogenous if the material's elastic properties (E, µ) are the same at all points in the body. A homogenous material is often confused with an isotropic material which is a material having the same elastic properties (E, µ) in all directions at any one point of the body.
