A magnetic dipole is a model of an object or a magnetic of microscopic dimensions that generates a magnetic field. Such field is considered to emanate from two opposite poles, that is, the north and south poles of the magnet, much like how an electric field emanates from a positive and a negative charge in an electric dipole.
