What Is a Non Alphanumeric Character?


A non alphanumeric character is one that does not contain the value of a number or a letter. It is data formatting that includes non-standard ASCII characters which are not included on a standard English-language keyboard. Examples include: apostrophes, parentheses, square brackets, hyphens, periods and commas.
