What Is a Planetary Nebula?

Answer

A planetary nebula is an emission that consists of an expanding glowing shell of ionized gas and is not visible to the naked eye. This gas is ejected during the asymptotic giant branch phase of the late stages of certain stars. Dumbbell Nebula was the first planetary nebula to be discovered and was observed by Charles Messier in the constellation of Vulpecula in 1764.
