Pre-print is an initial draft of a scientific or academic paper that is prepared before the actual publication in the review journal. Pre-prints are prepared to enable the researchers circulate their findings as they wait for extensive reviewing by the peers. Most of the preprints have been distributed electronically through the internet since 1991.
