African culture is the general widespread sub-Saharan African core values, beliefs, cultural themes and behaviours as they existed prior to European contact and as they still exist, especially in the rural areas and to a lesser extent in the urban areas of Africa. It is upon this which many, if not most, fundamental thought processes and behaviours of contemporary sub-Saharan Africans are based and continue to be derived from.
