Scrub radius refers to the distance in front view between the king pin axis and the centre of the contact patch of a wheel, where both would (in theory) touch the road. The kingpin axis is the line between the upper and lower ball joints of the hub. Large positive values of scrub radius, about 100mm, were used in cars for many years.
