Since he left Apple in 1985, Wozniak has been involved in many different business and philanthropic ventures. His main thrust has been to introduce computer technology to schools and encourage hands-on learning and creativity. He also co-founded the Electronic Frontier Foundation. The EFF is a watchdog organization that monitors and fights against government privacy invasion via the Internet or other technology.

He was inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame in 2000. He was also awarded the Heinz Award in Technology, the Economy and Employment.
