Air Conditioner Exhaust Open or Closed?

Answer

According to a local HVAC repairman the best setting for a window air condition depends on how it is being used. If the unit is on and running then you need the exhaust setting open to prevent the unit from burning up. During winter months when the unit is not being used you can lose the exhaust to keep cold air out.
