Deoxygenation is a term given to the chemical reaction that involves the removal of molecular oxygen from a reaction mixture or solvent. This could also be defined as the removal of oxygen atoms from a molecule. This process mostly occurs when there is no enough oxygen in the water. Deoxygenation is the opposite of oxygenation.
