What Is the Difference between Red and Grey Squirrels?

Answer

The most significant difference between red and grey squirrels in the UK is their weight. The adult red squirrel has a weight of 260g in the summer and 285g in the winter while the grey squirrel weighs 480g and 600g consecutively. Grey squirrels are also more adventurous and comfortable foraging on the ground whereas red squirrels spend most of their lives high up in conifer trees although both species are generally vegetarian.
