Sterilization is killing or viable micro organisms in an equipment thus it is said to be sterilised while disinfection is reducing the number of viable micro organisms in an equipment and it is said to be disinfected. Methods of sterilization include; chemical sterilization, radiation sterilization and heating. Methods of disinfection include use of alcohol, use of oxidizing agent and use of sodium bicarbonate.
