The G20 is a group of finance ministers and Central Bank Governors from the 20 largest economies in the world, along with representatives from the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund. 19 of these economies are countries, whereas the 20th economy is that of the European Union, which is represented by the President of the European Council and the Governor of the European Central Bank. These economies contribute to nearly 80 percent of the Gross World Product (GWP). As such, the G20 is widely considered to be the leading forum with regards to international cooperation on the most pressing global economic and financial issues.
