What is the ideal weight for a 59 year old woman, 5'6' medium frame?

Answer

The ideal weight (according to a BMI calculation) for a woman 5'6' is 142 - 156lbs. Personally I think if you get down to the lower weight on BMI you tend to look to thin, I would aim for a middle weight, perhaps around 150lbs.

A good way to assess your weight is to calculate your body mass index (BMI). BMI takes into account not just your weight, but also your height to indicate body fat. The goal for most people: a BMI that's over 18 and under 25.
