Tri-state area is a term used in United State of America to refer to a point where three states meet or are in close proximity. This point is also referred to as a tripoint. There are two types of tripoints, which is land and water tripoints. There are a total of 62 tripoints, 35 land tripoints and 27 water tripoints.
