When I got my iTouch, it came with a pair of Apple earphones, but they broke within a few weeks of using them. I decided to go to Walgreens and buy a pair of earphones to replace them, but they also broke within a week. I didn't realize earphones were prone to break until after my third pair --I got a pair of Nike Phillips 'sport' earphones, and these broke as well. At that point, I was really frustrated, and I started asking people around me about what earphones they recommend -- a pair that would be reasonably priced but more importantly, a pair that would last.
A friend of mine is a drummer and he recommended Shure's, and I went to go check them out at the Apple store. I didn't buy them right away however, because they were pretty expensive, and I would need to be definitely sure these would last me if I were to invest in a pair.
Then, one day, I was actually in the elevator with a colleague, and he was listening to music on his earphones, and I asked him where he got them. He told me he got them at Bose, and he had a story. He had initially got them as a gift. His pair broke, but he brought them back to the store, and they gave him a new pair. I was astonished. After hearing his story, I visited the Bose store (which is located near our office) a few days later, and tried their earphones, and spoke to the sales guys. They were really nice and helpful, and told me about the Bose warranty. That was maybe a year and a half ago when I first visited their store. I have had several pairs that have broken, but I have been able to return to the store, and exchange them for a new pair. This pair I have now has lasted me about 6 months. I am now a very dedicated Bose fan, and I've shared the story with others. I totally recommend their customer service --for their helpful service and warranty, and it has kept me a devoted advocate of their product.
