What Name Is Given to the Molten Rock below the Earth's Surface?


The molten rock that is below the earth's surface is called magma. The temperatures of magma are very hard to measure, but field observation and laboratory measurement indicate that the eruption temperatures of different magmas are between 1000 to 1200 degree C and 800 to 1000 degrees C.
