There are quite a few physical science concepts that are useful to know if you're a dancer or a skater. One concept is static balance. For example, if you're a dancer you may fall if you don't balance yourself, just the same if you're a skater, you need to balance. Another concept is zero-angular-momentum turns. In some moves, with dancers, the body parts carry the initial angular momentum change during the course of a turn. An example would be: a tour jete, which is the angular momentum associated with the raising of the left leg, taken up by the trunk and arms, then the left leg, then both legs.
