Dams are structures built by human beings in rivers. They are created through the construction of reservoirs. The positives of dams include; tourism attraction, generation of fishing activities, reduction of flood occurrences, continuous supply of water and generation of hydro electric power. The negatives of dams include; an increase in the storage of sediments, less beaches, presence of jams in tributaries, reduced temperatures in water that is downstream and sedimentation.
