What is a pedal pulse?

Answer

There are two types of pedal pulses, dorsalis pedis and the posterior tibial. Dorsalis pedis artery pulse can be palpated by placing your fingers just sideways to the extensor tendon of the great toe and if you cannot feel a pulse move fingers more laterally. The posterior tibial can be palpated by placing fingers behind and slightly beneath the medial malleolus of the ankle.
