Today, Europe is generally considered to be divided from Asia by the Ural mountains, which run north-south through western Russia. This definition is by no means universal. As the two continents occupy the same landmass, the boundary between them has been defined differently by different organizations over the years.

Both Europe and Asia are continents with Europe being the 6th largest and Asia the largest. The Caspian Sea and the Black Sea separate Europe from Asia as well as the Ural Mountains in Russia.
