What was the largest largemouth bass ever caught?

Answer

Bassmaster reports that the world record for the largest bass ever caught is a 22-pound, 4-ounce bass caught by George Perry. The then 20-year-old farmer caught the fish on June 2, 1932, in Lake Montgomery in southwestern Georgia.

Perry measured the fish at 32.5 inches long and 28.5 inches around. The fish was caught as part of a Field and Stream fishing contest, and Perry won $75 for his catch. The record is somewhat controversial in that no photographic proof exists of the bass. As of 2014, there has been only one other bass close to its size recorded, which was 18 pounds. It was caught in Georgia.
