What Was the Us Like in 2004?

There were several events that took place in the USA in 2004. In this year, president bush proposed ambitious space program which included flights to the Moon, Marsand beyond. John Kerry in this year secured Democratic nomination after winning nine out of ten primaries and caucuses. The U.S. media released graphic photos of American soldiers abusing and sexually humiliating Iraqi prisoners at Abu Ghraib prison which sparked outrage around the world. In this year also gay marriages began in Massachusetts, thus becoming the first state in the country to legalize such unions.
