The wheat backed pennies were minted from 1098-1958 and have the words 'One Cent' with pictures of a grain of wheat on both sides. Wheat backed pennies were mostly made out of solid copper. These pennies generally sell for at least 3 cents a piece but it depends on the condition of the penny and how the market is.
