Electronic mail started in 1971 after internet messaging processor (IMP) which allowed for connectivity standard for the network, developed in the UCLA Stanford and the University of Utah in 1969. Ray Tomlinson who was an Arpanet contractor with Bolt Beranek and Newman formed the standard pattern for email address.
