When do 1099 have to be Mailed?

A 1099 would need to be mailed to the recipient by January 31 every year. If you have not received it within a week or so of that date, you might want to call and make sure they were sent out.

Most 1099 forms must be received by the taxpayer by January thirty-first. This includes 1099-DIV and 1099-INT. However, 1099-B does not have to be received until February fifteenth. If possible, it is wise to mail them a couple of weeks early, to ensure compliance.
