When Robins Leave the Area Does That Mean Fall Is on the Way?

Answer

Yes, once robins leave your area in the late summer to early fall it means they have begun their migration south for the winter. The largest portion of robins migrate to an area in St. Petersburg, Florida, about a mile from my house. In the early evening the sky is black with robins returning to their roosting areas, and it takes 15 minutes for the flock to pass.
