Ramses the Great used to live in Thebes up to when he constructed a new capital in the Nile Delta. This city was called Pi-Ramesses or 'House of Ramesses, Great. He was the Egyptian Pharaoh (King) around 1290 BC and ruled Egypt for sixty seven years. He became a king at the age of 14.
