Circus can be dated to very early history and is believed to have originated from Egypt. It started as a building for the exhibition of horse and chariot races, equestrian shows, staged battles, displays featuring trained animals, jugglers and acrobats. The first recognized Circus was established by Philip Astley at Ha’Penny Hatch, Lambeth in 1768.
