The Tango dance originated in Rio de la Plata, Argentina before spreading to the rest of the world. Today there are many tango dances which have emerged such as Finnish Tango, Ballroom Tango of America and the Uruguayan Tango. In 2009, Tango dance was inscribed into the Intangible Cultural Heritage Lists by UNESCO after petition from Argentina and Uruguay.
