Where is my IP address on the computer?

Answer

There are at least three different ways to find the IP address on a computer. The first, and quickest is to find a site that tells the IP address of a visiting computer.

However, an IP address can also be found manually on the computer. Opening the command prompt on a Windows system such as XP is a quick way to find the IP address. Once the user types "ipconfig" into the window, the IP address will show up. Another way is to open the network connections program and view the status of the connection. The IP address is under "details."
