It is a city located in the Hampden County of Massachusetts in the United States which is the third largest city in the state of Massachusetts and it was declared a city on 25 May, 1852 but on 30 June, 2004, the Massachusetts General Court transferred and granted the control of the city to the Springfield Finance Control Board because the administration of the city was found incapable of handling finances and the financial condition of the city was bleak.
