Whitehall Jewelers was a retailer of jewelry that primarily specialized in gold and diamonds. At one time they owned 386 stores in 38 states. Unfortunately in 2008 the company filed for bankruptcy and went out of business. Whitehall Jewelers was known for their affordable prices and their upscale jewelry. The first ever Whitehall Jewelry store was opened in 1985 in Chicago. New management in 1990 opened up 100 new stores in different states. In 2006 Whitehall was bought out by Prentice Capital Management.
