During world war one, Britain was on the side of the Allies and they were fighting against the central powers, which were led by the German Empire, the Ottoman Empire and the Austro-Hungarian Empire. World War I involved all of the world’s great powers and it involved more than 70 million military personnel and out of these, 9 million combatants were killed.
