Who discovered quadrilaterals?

Answer

The use of quadrilaterals goes back to the time of the Ancient Greek mathematicians. According to math history and legend, Pythagoras was the first Greek to sketch a quadrilateral. These early quadrilaterals had three sides, and it wasn't until the Romans took up the use of these shapes that they were given a fourth side. It was also the Romans who began to categorize and discover the various shapes of quadrilaterals. The trapezium was discovered in 1813 by the Englishman J.P. Smith.
