Who holds the bench press world record?

Answer

Texan Paul "Tiny" Meeker holds the bench press world record. At the Cajun Hardcore Powerlifting event in Buena, Texas on December 14, 2013, Meeker's lift of 1,102 pounds made him the only man in the world to officially break the 1,100-pound mark. The lift eclipsed the previous record of 1,075 pounds set by American Ryan Kennelly in 2008.

Meeker's training leading up to his record-breaking performance took place at Monster Gym in Kingwood, Texas. After setting the mark, Meeker, who has trained more than 50 world champion powerlifters, immediately revealed he already had his eyes set on breaking the 1,200-pound barrier.
