Who Invented Rugby Union?

Answer

Albert Pell has been credited for being the first one to form a rugby team while he was a student at Cambridge. The game further spread to other colleges as it became more and more popular. The one who brought out the idea of the game in the first place is said to be a Rugby School student, William Web-Ellis who picked up the ball during a football game and ran with it. However, there is no reliable evidence of these claims. The ancient rugby balls were made out of pigs' bladders encased in leather.
