Who invented the egg carton?

Answer

In 1911, Canadian newspaper editor Joseph Coyle invented the cardboard egg carton. It was said that Coyle invented the product to solve a dispute between a farmer and a hotel owner, because the hotel owner would complain of frequently broken eggs. Late in the 1950s, British designer H.G. Bennett upgraded the product and developed the cardboard, molded paper pulp or plastic carton that is available in stores today. Little has changed in its design since then.
