Who sang the song "Hallelujah" in the film "Shrek?"

Rufus Wainwright sang "Hallelujah" in the popular 2001 animated feature film "Shrek." First released by Leonard Cohen in 1984, the song's most popular version was done by Jeff Buckley on his 1994 album "Grace," and it was also used in the soundtrack for the American TV program "The OC."

Wainwright also sang the song in the Leonard Cohen tribute film "Iā€™m Your Man." The song saw little success when it was first released. It started with 80 different verses but was eventually narrowed down to just 15. More than 100 separate versions of the song have been recorded as of 2014.
