The Vietnam War was a Cold military conflict that occurred in Vietnam,  Laos, and Cambodia from 1st November 1955 to the fall of Saigon on 30th April 1975. The country’s government was lead by Ho Chi Minh with his party Viet Minh at the time of Japan's withdrawal. The country was meant to be ruled by Bao Dai who was supported by the west.
